Why do documents need to be notarized.

Documents are needing to be notarized if there could potentially be legal or other implications if the documents are forged, or if there date and time restrictions, etc. The notary public acts as a witness to verify the identity and date documents are signed.

What are the Requirements for documents to be notarized?

Valid ID & the document that needs to be notarized. You will need to provide either a state ID card, driver’s license or passport. The ID must not be expired, and it must match the name on the document that needs to be notarized. Printing of documents is available for an additional charge.

Additionally, the person signing the documents must meet requirements.

  • Be at least 18 years old,

  • Have the ability to speak & read English

  • Be competent & coherent enough to understand the documents being signed

  • Must not under the influence of alcohol or drugs

  • Must not show signs of duress or signs of being coerced to sign.

    If in the notary’s sole discretion, these requirements have not been met, they will not notarize documents, and you will be charged the travel fee.

Can I sign the document before you arrive?

No. The documents must be signed in front of the notary.

How much do you charge?

$12 per notarized document plus travel fees. If the document needs to be notarized in more than one place, then it will be $12 per stamp. Please see the Pricing tab for more information on travel fees. Printing of documents is available for $1 per page.

CAN YOU DO SAME DAY APPOINTMENTS?

Many times same day appointments can be accommodated, but 24 hour notice is preferred.
